Baba Journeys Home
On May 9, 2008 Orisa Eshu, Orisa Iku, and Orisa Oya assembled to faciliate the journey of Chief Adeyela Adelekan Home to the Realm of the Ancestors. In Ifa, we refer to the place from which we come and to which we return as home. We refer to this world as the marketplace, the condition and experience that we call life. During Chief Adelekan's journey into the world he has touched many lives in profound ways. We offer our sincere condolences to his family and share in both their grief and their understanding. When Orisa calls, we must go. This is the way it has always been, and the way it will always be, for this is the nature of the marketplace.
Chief Adelekan was my dear friend and mentor and he will be missed and his instruction will not go in vain. May Olodumare, Orisa, and Egun receive our brother home with joy and celebration of his journey and his return.
Upon his ascension to the Realm of Ancestors all of his titles and responsibilities were transferred to his son, Ayobamidele A. Adelekan who also now serves as my mentor and liasion to the Isoro Traditional Council of Chief.
