Orisa and Ancestors can orchestrate circumstances that will help us to remember what we knew before we came into the world. In that rememberance, we will invite Orisa into our home and into our lives. Orisa will accept our invitation and come to dwell in the place that we have prepared for them (if you respect their status, position, and power). As Orisa studies our heart and draws us near, we may be invited to visit with Orisa and witness their Ase in one of their secondary homes, whether it be a mountain, a rock, the ocean, the sky, the forest, the air, or in a piece of white cloth.

Then, when we are ready to commit to the relationship and honor the protocols that come with it, Orisa invites us to their primary home where we can come to know them in all of their majestic power. This is the moment of Initiation. Who then would invite Orisa to their home and into their heart, visit with Orisa in their secondary residences, and then reject an invitation to come and visit with them in their primary homes, the Sacred Shrines and Temples of Ile-Ife, Nigeria and the surrounding cities?

If Orisa and Ancestors have helped you to remember why and how you came into the world, and if you have been moved by the presence of their Ase in your life, then Ile Awo Orisa invites you to come home where the Elders of Ifa await you with open arms.

They sit in the Sacred Shrines and Temples of Ifa waiting to invite you in and initiate you into the mysteries of your coming into the world and the ase you brought with you.

An Ifa Initiation

(move mouse over pictures)

This Ifa Initiation Ceremony took 3-4 hours. There was chanting of ese Odu Ifa, there was adura, ebo eji tutu, and other aspects to the ceremony. The World Chief Priest of Ifa, Chief Adisa Aworeni lead the initiation ceremony.

The Sacred Temples, Shrines, Rivers, and Locations associated with the various Orisa are from the standpoint of the Ifa History of the Beginning, the places were the Orisa first set foot on the earth. These are places and spaces that the various Orisa claimed at their primary residence. And they and we invite and call you to come to their homes and be initiated into their mysteries.
