This website is dedicated to the Students of Seifu A.S. Umar Sharif, MA. It is also dedicated to the promotion and propagation of the Traditional Afro-Asian Martial and Healing Arts. Our goal is to inform, educate, inspire, encourage, and motivate others to improve their lives by applying The Wisdom of the Ancients.

As your teacher and host, Seifu Sharif [aka: Xia` Xue' Gong] [aka: Tobi Alakoso] is dedicated to helping each of you to remember and nurture the Spirit of Wu-Te and the powers dormant within you.

Training Calendar

The objective of your training should be to practice harnessing and focusing the powers of your mind, body, and spirit. Training is the way you communicate to your body-mind how you want it to reflect your spirit. The techniques that we practice in 7 Circles (Me'je Oruka) must be filled with intention in order for your body-mind to make the correct interpretation of your movements. In other words, your communication with your body-mind must be made clear. This is accomplished by your giving clear intention to each movement. This is the meaning of focus. If you focus on each movement (execute the movement with clear intention) your body-mind will more quickly understand the purpose and chemistry of the movement and the movement(s) will become both natural and powerful.

The attached sample Training Schedule (.pdf) provides a guideline for successful development of your mind, body, and spirit. Obviously you can only practice the techniques that you have been taught. Therefore, you should repeat the recommended Qigong, Training, and Dietary Disciplines according to your level of development and knowledge. For example, Alakoso fasts three day per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This level of Dietary Discipline (fasting) is reflected in the schedule. However, if you have not been taught to that level then you should substitute the recommendation from one of the other days of the week. If you have not yet learned weapons then substitute something that you have learned on that day. If you only learned Part I of the Prearranged Fighting Form then practice that part on multiple days. If you don't know the 18 Mudra System then repeat the levels of the Fire Flower System. In other words, do something everyday.

You will observe in the Training Schedule/Calendar that it does not include meat in our Dietary Discipline. If you are a meat-eater you can add some meat to one or two of your meals each week. You could also choose to have meat on Sunday, the recommended Optional Day on the Dietary Discipline schedule. You should make informed decisions about the sources of your Earth Qi (food). If you choose to eat meat you should learn all you can about how it may affect your body-mind so that you understand how it may affect your energy and training.

This Training Schedule will carry you through a quarter of each year. You can contact Alakoso for advice on making adjustments in your training schedule as you progress through the years and in your level of knowledge and development. Rise each day in anticipation of new and wonderful experiences. Repeat our mantra often, "Every day, in every way, I'm getting healthier, better, stronger, wiser!" If you follow the Schedule with diligence, you will make those words true.
